THE Clarets today unveiled the new home kit for next season that they hope will be the strip of promotion winners.

The new kit is part of a record breaking three-year deal that is aimed at propelling the Clarets into the Premier League.

The new deal has been struck with UK kit manufacturers TFG and, according to the club's chief executive Andrew Watson, is worth "several hundred thousand pounds".

Watson explained this morning: "We have held talks over 12 months with 15-20 kit manufacturers.

"This has included several big brand names and we are delighted to announce that we have signed a 3-year contract with TFG, who fought off strong competition to give the best deal to the club and it's supporters.

"TFG offered Burnley a deal that far exceeded the other brands. What was most important is that they will manufacture shirts for the club at a price that will allow us to keep the retail price down for our supporters.

"In fact, next season's home and away shirts will be priced at the same as this season's and it is the third year that we have held prices the same."

"TFG are a £64m business and manufacture for M&S, Tesco and BHS as well as making the Liverpool shirts for Reebok.

"They have decided to to get into the kit manufacturing business and in the last 12 months acquired Super League who held our kit contract over the last 3 years.

"The Super League quality has improved each year, particularly in the last year since the TFG takeover.

"That has reflected in increasing sales from Burnley supporters and fewer returns, which will in turn be good for the club."

Such was the demand for shirts last season that Burnley retail had a record year last time around with turnover exceeding £1m for the first time.

In a further boost, TFG have also agreed to buy their cloth from local company Cloverbrook, who are big Burnley supporters and the relationship with the club will be managed by former Burnley great, Frank Casper and former Commercial Manager, Joyce Pickles.

The new kit has delighted manager Stan Ternent and he and the player's kit manager Daryl Bielby have been involved in the process and are delighted with the quality of the kit.

The kits will be priced as follows: Adults £39.99, Youths £35.99, Kids £31.99.

The new home kit will go on sale from Monday May 22 whilst the new away kit will go on sale on the day of the Clarets' Official Open Day on Saturday July 20.
