THE dilapidated Pavilion Buildings are grotesque and an eyesore on the newly-developed Church Street, in Blackburn.
They are a blot on the landscape at the top of Church Street, and look no better than army barracks.
The area would be more pleasing to the eye if they were demolished to open up the Cathedral grounds for more gardens and grass. This would not cost the £2 million needed for refurbishment of the buildings.
The front of the Cathedral is hidden behind those monstrosities, so let the public see the fine architecture of this important religious landmark. Surely, it is Lord Square which requires renovation to match the new design of Church Street, where money would be well worth spending.
So come on, council, don't put all the money down one street -- it's needed elsewhere.
