ROVERS defender Martin Taylor has been handed a surprise call-up to the England Under 21 squad for the European Under 21 championships in Switzerland later this month.
Taylor, who has been capped by England before, got the nod yesterday after Spurs defender Ledley King was forced to withdraw due to injury.
The 22-year-old centre-back was due to link up with manager David Platt and the rest of the squad last night as they prepared to fly out to Switzerland for the eight-team tournament.
