A LABOURER was found with an extendable baton known as an 'Asp' tucked down one of his socks.
Paul Hartley, 18, of Redspar Road, Burnley, pleaded guilty to possessing an offensive weapon.
He was fined £100 with £70 costs by Blackpool magistrates, who ordered confiscation.
Prosecutor Suzanne Sanders said a unit controlling closed circuit television cameras directed police to Blackpool South railway station, where a group of men appeared to have weapons.
The cameras showed Hartley putting something in his jeans.
Hartley was searched and the Asp was found under his trousers tucked into his sock.
The Asp holder was found in his pocket.
Julie Mercer, defending, said her client had come to Blackpool with a group of friends. Earlier that day the group had been attacked by Nottingham Forest fans and Hartley had taken the Asp off one of his attackers.
