AN alleged rapist told a jury a 78-year-old widow touched his private parts when he was in a drunken stupor in her home.

Hairdresser Henry Lasota, aged 60, said he and the woman he had known for 50 years had been drinking, joking and laughing together for some hours. That had happened many times during his frequent visits.

But one night in January last year he suddenly felt pain in his groin, he claimed at Manchester Crown Court yesterday. He found the woman had grabbed him.

However, the prosecution claim he tried to remove the woman's clothes and, as he did so, her daughter walked in.

Lasota, of Taylor Street, Prestwich, denies rape and an alternative charge of attempted rape.

Doctors found the victim had grip-type injuries on arms and wrists, and others consistent with a sex attack.
