A BLACKBURN pharmacist has launched a campaign to raise public awareness about the use of antibiotics.
Anna Atkinson, of Cohens Chemist, Shear Brow, is determined to raise the profile of how and when pills should be taken and the dangers of antibiotic resistance.
The campaign supports the Government's ongoing national education drive and is part of her Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy from De Montfort University, Leicester.
Mrs Atkinson, 33, a pharmacist manager for almost six years, has put up a number of displays and leaflets, in several languages, around her shop.
She said antibiotics are not always the answer and people should not expect their doctor to always prescribe them.
