WELL said, M Robinson (Letters, July 19) about the threat by Burnley College lecturers to refuse to teach a student because of her political beliefs. Politics has no place in the classroom, yet far too many teachers/lecturers use it as a means to peddle left-wing dogma.
Those involved in this blatant display of discrimination should be sacked immediately.
A few years ago I attended one of the local colleges as a mature student. As a Christian I am tolerant and show understanding towards many beliefs.
My lecturer was a very active member of the Anti Nazi League.
One year, I was appalled to see another like-minded lecturer handing out literature encouraging students, some in their teenage years and thus vulnerable to such suggestions, to take part in a rally in Hyde Park, protesting against actions in the Middle East by western countries.
