WITH school holidays now under way, Lancaster City Council's programmes of walks and events provide plenty to keep the family occupied.

On Friday, July 26 there is a 'Sunshine Stroll', part of Morecambe's popular 'Tern of Events' programme, starting at 2.15pm.

On Saturday, the arts take centre stage as behind the scenes tours take place at the Grand Theatre, Lancaster, starting at 11pm and 2pm.

Over in Morecambe, Peter Wade leads his popular ' Echoes of Art Deco' tour.

On Sunday, brass rubbing takes centre stage as part of the 'Tern of Events' at 1pm and brass band concerts take place at Happy Mount Park and Williamson Park, both starting at 2.30pm.

On Monday at 2pm there is a tour of Carnforth railway station, while at 7.30pm an 'explore Glasson' guided tour takes place.

Tuesday sees pond dipping at the RSPB's Leighton Moss reserve from 11am, 'Secrets of the park' at 2.15pm and another 'Sunshine Stole' provide the day's Tern of Events.

On Wednesday, there is a British Waterways' Lancaster Canal Walk at 10am, and Priory church tours at 11.15am 2.30pm and 3.30pm.

A Lancaster town hall tour takes place at 2.30pm with a Tern of Events family discover show in Morecambe beginning at the same time.

At 7.30pm you can take part in a Lancaster heritage tour or a red deer and dusk guided walk at Leighton Moss.

Finally, next Thursday you can take a Sculpture trail at the 'Tern of Events' at 2.15pm or follow the Pendle Witch trail at 7.30pm.
