HEALTH SERVICE patients with an axe to grind will soon be better served in the area.
The Community Health Councils of Lancaster and Morecambe and South Cumbria have successfully applied to pilot a scheme to handle complaints about the NHS more quickly, independently and fairly.
The Independent Complaints Advocacy will come into being in September and is funded to run from centres in Lancaster, Barrow and Kendal for six months.
If the scheme is successful it will be extended to other UK health services.
