FIVE-YEAR-OLD Megan Thornton has donated a bottle of pennies to the Magic Eye Appeal - instead of saving them for a Florida holiday.
Megan, from Accrington, decided to give the bottle of coins to the appeal to fund a state-of-the-art ultrasound endoscopic scanner because she "wanted to make people better."
Grandmother Patricia Cox, said Megan is 'very thoughtful' and is not surprised by her £28.93 donation.
Megan, who attends Peel Park Primary, had been saving up for more than eight months. Her dream was to meet Mickey Mouse in Florida until she read of the Magic Eye appeal in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
But Megan does not stop there. Now the bottle is empty, she aims to fill it up again and donate even more money to the appeal which is aiming to raise £200,000.
The Magic Eye appeal hopes to purchase the vital equipment to benefit the whole of East Lancashire.
