INVESTORS in Bury's green future came to town to see how local projects are growing.
They comprised representatives from the New Opportunities Fund and English Nature, who are providing £73,000 over a three-year period.
Their fact-finding trip took them to Chesham Woods in Bury to see British Trust for Conservation Volunteers at work, before heading for Philips Park Local Nature Reserve (LNR) in Whitefield.
Mr David Dutton, Bury Council's wildlife and project officer, said: "Thanks to the funding, we have been able to establish a new post of local nature reserve officer (Paul Robinson) to co-ordinate and support a series of improvement and development projects.
"LNRs are relatively small projects, but are capable of having a huge impact in their locality. They provide an oasis for flora and fauna, and offer many educational opportunities, especially for young people."
