POPSTARS band Hear'Say have split up, with Bury singer Suzanne Shaw admitting they were just "a fad".

Hear'Say members Suzanne, Noel Sullivan, Myleene Klass, Danny Foster and Johnny Shentall said they had decided to call it a day because their lives had been made hell by abuse in the street and jeers when they performed.

The split comes less than two years after they were created by the hit ITV series.

Suzanne, aged 21, told the Sun newspaper: "It's a fad thing, a novelty. It's like a pair of trainers -- one minute they're in and the next minute they're out."

She added: "It's a build-up of events, when you've been the biggest band in the country to be suddenly going to roadshows and being booed is just far too much.

"My advice to the people on the new talent shows like 'Popstars: The Rivals' would be always follow your dreams, but you have to have a thick skin."

Danny, aged 23, said: "We have had enough. The public make you and break you."

Myleene, aged 24, said: "Nobody deserves what we went through."

Hear'Say were officially created on February 16 last year when Popstars judges announced that Noel, Myleene, Suzanne, Danny and Kym Marsh, aged 26, would form the band.

In February this year, Kym, from Ashton-in-Makerfield, near Wigan, left and was replaced by Johnny, an ex-backing dancer with the band.

Hear'Say's debut single Pure and Simple made number one in the charts last year and was the fastest-selling debut single ever.

Noel told the Sun: "We're not millionaires, but we are a lot better off than we would have been if we had been waiters and cleaners."
