TEAMWORK was the order of the day for pupils of Oakhill College, Whalley, during a residential course in the Lake District.
Year 11 pupils from the college took part in a two-day course at Borwick Hall entitled, Standing on Your Own Two Feet.
Borwick Hall is a 14th century manor house in Carnforth operated by the Lancashire Outdoor Education and the course was coordinated by the Salford Diocese Youth Service.
The course offered the youngsters practical, social and moral challenges, aimed at encouraging them to explore caring and sharing, cooperation and teamwork, communication skills and decision-making.
An Oakhill College spokesman said: "This is the sort of approach to learning and self-exploration that many of today's enlightened employers have embraced, a strategy of on-going personal development focused on the individual and his or her needs.
"This is at the very heart of Oakhill's philosophy on education provision, to make learning stimulating and enjoyable, which integrates important social skills within each child's educational development."
