SIR,
RECENTLY I drove past a traffic accident so severe it required the attendance of two fire engines, an ambulance and, of course, the police.
It happened on Holden Road, Leigh, at the point of one of the many road obstructions the council has installed in the guise of 'traffic calming measures".
I have live in the Holden Road area for 13 years and this is the first accident I have witnessed or indeed become aware of happening on this road, and it has occurred just a few months after the installation of the traffic calming scheme. Coincidence or what?
