PARTS of East Lancashire woke up to another layer of snow this morning.
On higher ground there was several inches of snow and the wintry weather looks set to continue tomorrow with more snowfall forecast.
Experts at the Met Office said that snow is likely at around 4am and also between 10am and 1pm tomorrow.
Temperatures are set to remain below two degrees.
Last night, the weather put paid to Accrington Stanley's League Two game against Barnet.
However, East Lancashire has escaped lightly compared to parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland, which are being battered by blizzards, gale force winds and torrential rain.
And several schoolchildren were seriously injured in Lanarkshire, Scotland, after the bus they were travelling in crashed in "horrendous" weather conditions.
