SCHOOLS, churches and community groups got into the festive spirit to decorate Christmas trees and help spruce up Burnley's Thompson Park.
The Christmas in the Park spectacular was a competition for the best decorated Christmas tree and was organised by the Friends of Thompson and Queens Parks and Burnley Council's Ranger service.
Fourteen trees were decorated in the three sections, Corporate section for businesses, Schools, and Community Groups.
The trees will now go on display on the grass adjacent to Ormerod Road over the festive season.
The Christmas spectacular took place on Sunday in Thompson Park with a host of festive activities for the whole family to enjoy, including crafts, music, hot food and drinks.
June Evans, from the Friends of Thompson Park said: "The event was a great success and all the trees look wonderful. Hopefully this is something that can become an annual Christmas event."
