PUPILS at Crawshawbooth Primary School will be involved in a Christingle at St John's Church.
Originally a Swedish tradition, the service is supported by the Children's Society, which will be collecting on the day. Each pupil from year three and four will receive an orange with a candle which symbolises the light of Jesus in the world.
A red ribbon represents blood and four pieces of fruit symbolise the four corners of the world.
In the evening year five and six will present a traditional concert, featuring carols, poems and reading by the pupils.
The Christingle starts at 2.15pm on Thursday, and the concert at 7pm.
