A DARWEN mum swapped card board boxes for Criminology when she packed in her factory job for study.
Anne Marie Moore, a single parent to six-year-old Katie, left school with no qualifications. But six years ago she enrolled at Blackburn college to study GCSEs and an Open College course in law and criminology. She then studied full-time for a degree in criminology.
Now she is working as a restorative justice officer in Oldham - a mediator between victims of crime and offenders.
Brian Whitehead, dean of the higher education centre, said: "Anne Marie is an excellent example of determination and lifelong learning. We wish her every success for the future."
