RESIDENTS of Redvers Road, Darwen, have started a petition against a footpath which links their homes to a new motorway service station and fast-food restaurant.
Neighbours are furious about the unwanted path leading to the new McDonald's on the services off the M65.
The facility was fully backed by the residents - but they claim they had no idea a path would lead directly from the bottom of the road to the services.
They claim they are already besieged by gangs of children and have been swamped with rubbish.
Linda Chelton, 31, is leading the campaign.
She said: "We have kids coming down here all the time and the amount of rubbish is increasing. We were assured that there would be no access through our road and now there is.
"We've been lied to by the council."
The residents are planning a public meeting in the new year.
