POLICE have renewed an appeal for information after a conman made off with the life savings of a 90-year-old woman.
The man, who was described as "cheerful" by the victim, stole the money after pretending to deliver gifts from a charity.
The man talked his way into the woman's home in Woodfold Place, Revidge, Blackburn, and left the wrapped presents -- a bottle of wine and books -- but stole several hundred pounds after searching her house.
Police said it had left the woman with just £10 to survive on over the festive period.
The man was described as white, 5ft 8in tall, of medium build, in his late 30s and was wearing dark-framed glasses, a dark hat and dark clothes.
He was quite pleasant and spoke with a Lancashire accent.
Call Blackburn police on 01254 52111 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 with information about the incident on Friday, December 20.
