YOUNG people in Burnley are being urged to get together to discuss their differences and shape the future of their community.

Two 'Peace by Peaceful Means' seminars aim to allow young people aged 15 and above to see how communities in Burnley can work together to build a brighter future for the town.

The seminars will also explore world conflicts and young people will be encouraged to look at how they can make a positive difference for community relations.

Terry Burns, Lancashire County Councillor and Champion for Youth, said: "This is a marvellous opportunity for young people from all backgrounds in Burnley to meet and share their ideas for the future of the town, as well as exploring their cultural differences."

The first seminar, which has been organised by Burnley Youth Council with the support of the town's Youth and Community Service, will be held tomorrow,on Friday from 4.30pm to 8.30pm and the second event will be on Saturday from 10.30am to 5pm.

Both seminars will be held at the District Youth and Community Office at 11 Finsley Gate, Burnley.
