Flixton 0-7 Leigh RMI by Martyn Hindley: RMI have made the last eight of the Lancashire Marsden Trophy for the third time in four years after running riot at Valley Road on Tuesday.

Flixton, of the North West Counties League, just could not live with the Railwaymen in any aspect of the game as Mark Patterson's men ran up the biggest winning margin for the club since re-locating to Leigh in 1994.

Predictably, Dino Maamria was among the goals as he bagged a hat-trick, but the manager was able to give a debut to goalkeeper Gavin Bates. There were also returns from injury for Liam Blakeman and Ian Monk to give Patterson valuable squad options ahead of a crucial three months for RMI.

Ex-Southport lad Blakeman got on the scoresheet too for the first time in Leigh colours, with Ged Courtney and Andy Heald finishing off the rout. An own goal capped Flixton's night of misery as the visitors earned a quarter-final tie with Rossendale United or Marine.

With RMI out of the FA Trophy this weekend, Patterson takes his side to Tameside to tackle Stalybridge Celtic - and ex-Leigh man Dave Miller. Kick-off is at 3pm, with admission £3 for adults and £1 for under 16's.
