A RADIO message alerted police to Harvey Roland Rimmer's theft of a Rolling Stones CD from a music store.
Blackburn magistrates heard the 55- year-old was caught around the corner with the disc concealed in his clothing. And defence solicitor Basharat Ditta told the court that Rimmer had later confessed to him: "I'm too old for this."
Rimmer, of Cherry Tree Lodge, Islington, pleaded guilty to theft. He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £50 costs.
Mr Ditta said his client's record went back to 1962. "That is probably about the time the Rolling Stones started making records of a different type," said Mr Ditta.
Mr Ditta said his client had intended to pay for the CD but fell to temptation when he noticed it did not have a security tag attached.
