I FOUND the 'Looking Back' article by Eric Leaver on the Cup-winning Blackburn Olympic side of 1883 (LET, January 23) very interesting, because my father's uncle was a member of the team.
His Cup medal was handed down to the male members of our family and was passed on by me to my son when he was 21 to carry on the family tradition.
Unfortunately, it has now been lost. My great uncle's name on the medal was J T Ward.
