SMOULDERING timber sparked off a blaze at a factory.
Fire crews spent 90 minutes at the premises of Wallwork Heat Treatment in Lord Street, Bury.
A slow build-up of heat within the wood caused the timbers to burst into flames. The fire spread to the roof, although damage was minimal.
Firefighters discovered two propane cylinders inside the factory but they were far enough away from the blaze and did not pose any threat of explosion.
The crews deployed a thermal imaging camera to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.
Officers ventilated the smoke-logged factory following Thursday night's (Jan 23) incident.
