BURY College celebrated its second year of providing Information Technology (IT) training to the local community by holding a presentation evening.

The event was held at the Stubbins Bridge IT Centre which first opened its doors in January 2001 and to date has enrolled more than 2,000 adult learners.

Carol McKenzie, director of development at Bury College, presented certificates to successful students on the evening. She said: "It is wonderful to know that we are currently enrolling our 2,015th learner at the centre. We are delighted to be able to offer the local community an accessible, flexible learning opportunity.

"Students can learn at their own pace, at times to suit their lifestyle and personal commitments, making this method of study ideal for those working shifts or with family commitments."

The centre is open from 9am to 9pm Monday to Thursday and 9am to 5pm Friday and Saturday for 50 weeks of the year. For further details call 01706 827155.
