GOOD CHARLOTTE: Lifestyles Of The Rich and Famous (Epic)

THE debut single from this four-piece, who hail from the American east coast, is pure pop funk with attitude. This is just how modern punk music should sound and, with a straight talking, street-level view of life, they've got that priceless ability to connect.

EASYWORLD: Junkies (Jive)

THIS tidy slice of emotive songcraft brilliantly showcases the band's ability to use guitars, dynamics and melody to draw listeners into the song. With the talent to blend anthemic guitar rock with pop sensibilities, they deserve a far higher profile than their current status.

OASIS: Songbird: (Big Brother)

AMAZINGLY, this Liam Gallagher-penned love song iis half decent. There's a nod in the direction of John Lennon but it's clearly the pick a trio of tracks. Sadly, the live version of their classic Colombia, recorded during their 10th anniversary tour, is somewhat lifeless and over-polished.
