HOT on the heels of the sell-out success of a Phoenix Nights Special at Blackburn's Beechwood WMC, the Lock 'n' Load Comedy Club kicks off a brand new season of comedy mayhem at Eanam Wharf tomorrow.

The Lock 'n' Load team have put together a double-headline show featuring Valentine Flyguy, the outrageous alter-ego of comedy talent Zeron Gibson, and one of the fastest rising stars on the stand-up circuit, Inder Manocha.

Club compere Martin Cassidy said: "After the huge high of the sell-out "special" we really needed something big to kick off this year's gigs at The Wharf.

"I've worked with Zeron before and sold him the idea of doing a gig for us then. He and Inder share the same agent so we managed to hammer out a deal and feature them both on the same bill.

"It promises to be a great night."

The Lock 'n' Load team have decided to restrict their regular gigs at Eanam Wharf to one per month and concentrate on promoting gigs at bigger venues featuring bigger acts.

"We are going to do a gig at The Wharf on the first Saturday of every month and entry will still be a fiver.

"As well as this we aim to do half a dozen or so "specials" like the Phoenix Nights themed gig we've just done," said Martin.

The new Lock 'n' Load comedy season starts tomorrow night at Eanam Wharf in Blackburn. Admission is £5. For details, visit the club's website www.locknloadcomedyclub.com or call 0771 924 2795.
