DAVID Barry Pilkington, 58, of Trinity Street, Oswaldtwistle, was bound over in the sum of £50 to keep the peace for 12 months when he appeared before Blackburn magistrates and admitted a breach of the peace.
A charge of persistently soliciting women for the purpose of prostitution was withdrawn. Lisa Worsley, prosecuting, said police saw Pilkington driving his car in King Street, Blackburn, at 11.05pm. They followed the car into Pump Street where it was travelling very slowly.
In Sunnyhurst Road the car virtually came to a stop alongside a known prostitute, before continuing.
Elizabeth Parker, defending, said Pilkington accepted being in the area, but did not accept that he was kerb crawling. She said he had been in his current job as an administration assistant for 33 years.
