MEMBERS of a girls' football team are hoping to score with an appeal for new team players to join the group.
Accrington Girls Soccer Academy (AGSA) is looking to start a new team for six and seven-year-olds after growing demand from youngsters.
The academy began with three teams last February after getting £5,000 from the Lottery's Awards For All. But girls as young as six and seven had to be turned away from coaching sessions as they were too small.
Joanne Cooney, club manager, said: "When we have advertised for the under-10s team we have been getting six and seven year olds coming along. So now we have decided to set up a team specifically for them."
The teams train every Wednesday evening at Accrington and Rossendale College in Sandy Lane. To find out more call Joanne on 01254 773808.
