THE transfer window slams shut for Premiership sides at midnight tonight and there will be no departures from Turf Moor.

Chairman Barry Kilby admitted: "We did have one enquiry in relation to a player but it was out of the ball park.

"We have admitted that we might have to sell players if the right offer were to come in but we have never had any intention of letting any players go on the cheap.

"Apart from that one call there has been nothing at all and I think that if you look at the activity that has taken place, it has actually been very quiet.

"That is a clear indication of the financial problems that are affecting clubs across the board.

"I expected it to be a slow period and so it has turned out.

"Nowadays the Premiership sides seem to prefer to shop around abroad and try and get players for little money from elsewhere."

Last summer, Burnley boss Stan Ternent admitted that all his players would be for sale if the price was right, following the collapse of ITV Digital, but it was always dependent on getting realistic offers.

That has not happened and Kilby added: "We have worked hard to put a plan in place that assumes no players moving on and we are just going to have to battle on."
