RETIRED Wigan and Leigh College Principal, Peter Hoddinott has died aged 70, after a long illness.
Mr Hoddinott joined the college in 1958 as a maths lecturer, and worked his way up to the post of Principal, which he held for six years, until his retirement in 1995.
Mr Hoddinott leaves wife, Doreen, son Richard and daughter Caroline. His funeral takes place at 11.45am tomorrow (Friday) at Wrightington Parish Church.
