DJ Paul Taylor has high hopes for the summer of 2003, he's on course to be the brains behind Ibiza's biggest night.

Paul's Retro brand has landed the biggest night of the week at the White Isle's legendary Eden venue after three solid years doing midweek nights.

Retro is the global phenomena which has grown out of the old Angel's nightclub in Burnley, which attracted people from across the North West before being pulled down in the mid-1990s.

Since then, Paul has built up the Retro name, playing the big tunes from the 1990s along with ones which were favourites at Retro but didn't make it elsewhere.

Despite being as far removed from the old Angels club as imaginable, Paul insists the Angels vibe is alive and kicking inside Eden, the multi-thousand capacity venue.

And he said: "To be honest, I am more excited about this year than every before. I was excited the first year and we have had great years in between.

"But we've got Saturday night and I reckon we will be able to match and better the biggest nights Ibiza has had before.

"Judge Jules has done big stuff there before and so has God's Kitchen, but if we can can get the locals out, then I am sure we can match it.

"To say I am excited is an understatement."

In the meantime, Paul kicks off a new monthly Retro night at Lancashire's newest superclub, The Syndicate, in Blackpool, tonight.

Burnley-born Paul has signed up 90s dance star Rozalla, who had a hit with 'Everybody's Free' to do a PA tonight.

He said: "There is a real buzz about this night, which is unusual for a Friday night. We are getting a whole new generation of people coming along to Retro which is great for us, but people still travel to see us as well who can remember Angels.

"The club in Blackpool is great and the PA should add to what we already do. Things are looking really good at the moment."
