ROSSENDALE United will put their cup exploits to one side when they take on second-in-the-table North Ferriby United in the UniBond first division tomorrow.

Dale beat Premier Division side Vauxhall Motors 1-0 in the UniBond League Cup last Saturday - their fourth Premier scalp of the season - and are through to the semi-finals, which have yet to be drawn.

Ironically, Dale have struggled in the league this season, although new manager Jim McBride is confident he has a young side with a lot of potential.

"It was superb (the win against Motors)," he said. "Amazing. It was just down to organisation and hard work. It's as simple as that.

"Of course we are hoping to build on that now and the lads are playing with a lot of confidence.

"We should go into games now fearng no one."

Dale beat North Ferriby 1-0 in the home tie earlier in the season.

"We are looking forward to it. They are a good footballing side and I was pleased with the way we played when we beat them at our place.

"I think it is easier for us to play against that type of team, one that plays football."

Dale are also still in the Marsden Trophy, and Leigh RMI's 7-0 win over Flixton on Tuesday night has set up a return for former Blackburn Rovers, Bolton and Dale player Mark Patterson, the manager of Leigh.

"We will play Leigh in the quarter finals next week and we are looking forward to having Mark back.

"I went to the game on Tuesday and had a chat to him. He is looking forward to it too.

"I think it will be a good game."

And it will give Dale the chance to add a Conference side to their list of scalps!
