AN open evening and public consultation on how to improve the Clover Hill area of Nelson will be held on Thursday at St Bede's Church Hall.
Organised by the Clover Hill Residents' Action Group (CRAG), the meeting comes after 12 months of negotiation with the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers with a view to improving Quarry Hill Nature Reserve.
The group's plans for the former landfill site will be available for everyone to see and will include a range of ideas.
Maureen Roberts, secretary of CRAG, said: "As well as heather and wild flower areas we hope to incorporate a grass maze for small children, new benches and a dipping pond, which would attract wildlife."
At the meeting, between 6.30pm and 9pm, visitors will also be shown a film about distraction burglary and Terry Butterworth, of Pendle Homescare and Repair, will talk about his work.
