THE Turf Moor futures of goalkeeper Marlon Beresford and defender Drissa Diallo were being considered today as their respective month long contracts come to an end.

And manager Stan Ternent admitted: "I hope to get them both settled in as Burnley players because if I don't, someone else might.

"That would be putting vinegar on the wound."

Ternent was due to meet chairman Barry Kilby to discuss both players before the monthly board meting at Turf Moor this afternoon.

The chairman said this morning: "I spoke to the manager yesterday and we are meeting today. The deals for both players are up and it is something we need to get sorted."

Beresford has already signed five month long deals since he returned to Turf Moor at the start of September.

Diallo, released by cash strapped Belgium side Mechelen, has played four games since he signed for a month and he was one of few to escape criticism from the manager after Saturday's 5-2 hammering by Reading.

"Drissa got a knock on his ankle but he has played extremely well," he said. "I have a meeting with the chairman and I am sure that if he and the board can help me they will.

"The meeting is today and so hopefully somethign will come out of it," he added this morning.
