GREAT Harwood Town let a two-goal lead slip as they crashed out of the Second Division Trophy at the hands of Oldham Town.

"I simply can't believe it," said Robins boss John Hughes. "We were in complete control and enjoying the game but the second half was nothing short of a disaster."

The impressive Paul Mashiter fired his side in front as early as the second minute after racing through the heart of the Oldham defence.

John Eastham got on the scoresheet minutes before the break - after having an earlier effort disallowed - as the home side looked dead and buried.

Into the second half Town continued to create - Rick Winstanley missed a

one-on-one and Liam Denning failed to find the net from a clutch of opportunities.

The visitors were made to rue their wastefulness in front of goal as Oldham hit back through Curley and a last gasp equaliser from Muir took the tie into extra time.

Neither side grabbed a winner and the dreaded penalty shoot-out brought woe for the visitors as Chris Heslop saw his spot kick saved.
