A NEW reading scheme is sure to make youngsters sit up and take note.
The first in a series of "storytimes" sessions is at Prestwich library next Thursday (Feb 6) from 10.45am-11.30am.
Library assistant June McLaughlin will read the stories, while parents and child carers will be given information about the toy library. Councillor Siobhan Costello, arts and culture spokesman, said: "The sessions will provide an ideal opportunity for children to share in the pleasure of stories and books, and interact with other children of the same age in a secure and pleasant environment. For parents and carers, it will provide a regular venue to get together and have a chat."
The sessions are aimed at the under-5s and take place every Thursday morning during term-time.
At each session, the children listen to a few stories, and then make a picture on the theme of the tale.
