A CHARITY barn dance at an Accrington pub has helped an overseas aid project a step closer its £20,000 target.
The event, at The King's Arms, in Lee Street, raised more than £800 for the Nepalese School Project being run by Lancashire Education Advisory Service.
Organiser Elaine Richards said 180 people attended and the evening was so successful, a second dance has already been arranged for later this year.
The project, set up in January, wants to reach the target by the end of December.
Elaine added: "We launched in January and, so far, we have reached £2,000. There will be lots of events throughout the year and we are hoping to raise much more." The money raised will go towards building schools in Nepal, which cost around £1,500 each.
