FORMER Mayor of Wigan Tom Morgan has died aged 83.
Mr Morgan, from Lowton, who became Wigan MBC's fourth Mayor in 1977 was a Labour councillor and also served on Golborne UDC.
A former National Coal Board legal executive, Second World War veteran and Territorial Army instructor who had worked at French Foreign Legion headquarters, Mr Morgan leaves a wife, Doris, daughters Joyce and Susan and a son, Tom. His funeral took place on Wednesday at Howe Bridge.
