IT is right to condemn the government's new adopted policy of refusing to jail burglars. Their abject failure over law and order, endangers further, the general public and can only increase the number of victims. Those who complain however, along with other residents of Blackpool, are probably unaware of the local policies as announced by the town hall, adopted by our Labour/Lib-Dem Council, and which should greatly hearten all residents in the resort. Our ruling councillors are experts of course in dealing with criminals, and indeed, we are fortunate in having some of those councillors as magistrates too.

They in fact, operate a bold initiative to 'tackle prolific offenders.'

These are the 'repeat offenders,' the hard-core criminals, and that includes the vicious thugs to mind you. In a brave effort to clamp down hard on those who cause so much harm to Blackpool's residents, and instill fear in so many neighbourhoods, our Council is striking a blow from which the convicts will never recover.

And the punishment? Well, it's what the experts call, 'a non-custodial scheme.'

To you and me, that means - failing to lock up the thugs and putting them back on the street.

Yes, that's it!

The resort's local criminal thugs shake with fear at the very prospect of a 'Blackpool Punishment.'

It is heartening indeed, that the town's electorate can have such confidence in their Labour/Lib-Dem council.

I expect this is why at election time, so many choose not to vote and thereby give their consent to those very brave policies.

I wonder though, what will happen at the forthcoming May election!
