DETECTIVES have launched a hunt for a sex attacker who indecently assaulted a young boy in public toilets.

The 13-year-old youngster was left traumatised and extremely distressed by Monday morning's (Feb 10) attack at the Market Hall toilets in Radcliffe town centre.

He had walked into the market toilets around 10.30am and was heading towards the end cubicle when he was grabbed from behind.

The man pushed him into the next cubicle where he indecently assaulted him.

The offender was white, aged 40, 5ft 6ins tall, and of stocky build. He had a bald or shaved head and was wearing grey trousers and a beige, knee-length fur coat.

PC Tracey Quinn, of Whitefield Police, said: "The boy was left extremely shaken by what happened.

"The toilets are situated next to the market and the incident occurred during a busy period of the day.

"I believe someone must have seen this man entering or leaving the toilets, or maybe other people using those toilets around that time witnessed him acting suspiciously."

She added: "We are appealing for anyone with information surrounding this incident to contact us on 872 5050 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
