POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a robber carrying a silver handgun escaped empty-handed in a Post Office raid.
He walked into Whittaker Lane Post Office in Prestwich at 4pm on Thursday and told a 33-year-old woman behind the counter to fill a carrier bag with cash, but fled as she activated an alarm.
No shots were fired and no one was injured.
