A NEW £1million pub in Morecambe town centre is to be named after the town's most famous son.
The Wetherspoon's development on Euston Road will be known as The Eric Bartholomew, a reference to the real name of comic Eric Morecambe, born in the resort in 1926.
It received a licence on Friday and building work is expected to start in mid April. Thirty new full and part-time jobs will be created when it opens in September.
