BLACKBURN with Darwen Council's Lifelong Learning Service is among four North West organisations to scoop top prizes in this year's Learning North West Success Awards.
The annual awards are presented to organisations demonstrating innovation in helping their employees -- or the wider community -- to learn new skills.
Blackburn with Darwen's service joined the North West Business Environment Partnership, Greater Manchester Workforce Confederation and Tameside College's Passport to Learning project as winners.
Learning Northwest works with more than 600 organisations across the region to encourage innovation in skills development and to engage all North West individuals over the age of 16 in appropriate learning opportunities.
Learning North West director Jill Berry said: "The four winning projects are all very different from each other, yet they each share a common goal -- to address the national skills shortage and promote the government's lifelong learning agenda"."
Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council picked up the Best Generic campaign award for its original work with last year's North West Festival of Skills and Learning.
