FORMER army camp land overlooking a popular fishing lodge in Starling could soon be given village green status.
Members of the Friends of Cockey Moor, Whiteheads' and Parkers' Lodges say that the land, to the South of Gisburn Drive, has been in common use for the last 40 years.
A formal notice has now been lodged by Bury Council, asking for any objectors to make their case by May 2.
