PENDLE Forest ran their Thursday evening event over 10 miles based on Thornton-in-Craven with the course having to be slightly shorter due to road works in the village.

Regular winner Dave Metcalfe of Barnoldswick was again fastest in 22m 10s and followed this by a fourth place and fastest Veteran award in a 10 mile event in North Yorkshire on Saturday.

Second in the Pendle Forest event with 22m 46s was infrequent visitor Paul Oldham of Colne who rides for the Giant cycles team, while Simon Phillips (22m 52s) was 3rd and Chris Smedley of Nelson Wheelers (23m 36s) 4th.

Any veteran riders who still wish to enter the LVRC 33 mile road race at Bashall Eaves next Wednesday evening can do so by phoning organiser Dave Hargreaves on 01254-671012 as soon as possible.

As promised - more local cycling club websites are: www.blackburnanddistrictctc.co.uk, www.the-unicorn.demon.co.uk/nelsonwheelers.htm, while the Clayton Velo have not yet set up their web-site but can be contacted by e-mail on aroper@btinternet.com.

AT Clitheroe in the Road Club 10 mile time trial Fraser Snape was best in 23m 43s but was pushed by the 23m 53s of Billy Rodgers.

Third went to Blackburn's Dave Hargreaves (25m 24s) and Paul Warrener finished fourth just one second slower.
