JASON Ashworth has lived up to the promise he showed as a schoolboy by taking his second Accrington Knock-out title.
The 18-year-old first won the title two years ago and proved it was no one-off as he beat Walter Ollett 2 and 1 in this year's final.
Jason said: "I won it two years ago but didn't make it in last year. I was disappointed because I thought I'd get automatic qualification, but the only two times I've qualified I've won it.
""I don't mind knock-out because you can afford to have a bad hole, so I prefer that format."
Jason, who is studying golf at Myerscough College, also proved his potential when he beat club champion Ian Hardman in the semi-final.
