SOCCER mascot Chaddy Owl helped a Whitefield pensioner and his grandson celebrate their birthdays on the same day.
For a little birdie told Chaddy, alias Kevin Williams, that both were holding a joint party to mark William Wright's 81st birthday and Callum Wall's18th -- his coming-of-age.
William lives in Beal Walk, Whitefield, while Callum resides in Bankside Avenue, Radcliffe, where the celebrations were held. A friend of Chaddy told him about the party and he "flew" down to make a surprise, guest appearance.
Callum is a fan of Oldham FC and although his grandfather isn't an avid soccer supporter, he does have a soft spot for Bury.
