Leigh Centurions 66 Swinton Lions 6 by Mike Hulme: THE Centurions midfield trio of Paul Rowley, John Duffy and Ian Knott had a field day as Leigh ran up another impressive Arriva Trains group victory.

Rowley, Duffy and Knott bagged seven of Leigh's 12 tries in another one-sided contest.

Rowley set the ball rolling as early as the sixth minute and then set about tearing the Lions to shreds as he played part in hat-tricks for Duffy and skipper Knott.

Satisfied coach Darren Abram was quick to praise his match-winning trio. "Paul Rowley breaks teams up all over the place with his dummy half running, John Duffy supports and creates magnificently and Ian Knott is coming into his own now, showing just why we went out and bought him."

The Lions rarely posed any threat to Leigh who were quickly out of the blocks. After Rowley's early score Duffy laid on another for Dan Potter and Chris Percival intercepted and went the length of the field.

Before half-time Duffy and accepted a chance from Rowley and then the stand-off created another for Knott. Just before the break a fumble by ex-Leigh winger Chris Irwin gave Knott his second and Leigh a 34-0 lead.

The second-half began as poorly as the first for the Lions with Leigh adding two tries in the opening six minutes. Duffy grabbed the first in support of Rowley and Knott before turning provider to get Knott in for his hat-trick.

Percival brought up Leigh's half century and before the hour Duffy had forced his way over to complete his hat-trick.

Swinton's solitary try came from impressive second rower Danny Heaton, goaled by Craig Wingfield, but it was only a temporary respite as winger Damian Munro crossed twice in the last nine minutes.

Despite the atrocious conditions Neil Turley managed nine conversions from 12 shots including one monster effort from the touchline in the middle of a hailstorm.
